On Tuesday 31st March, the Kenyan National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) with support from The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Carbon Africa hosted a national stakeholder webinar. The online interaction presented the preliminary results of a proposed Grid Emission Factor Standardized Baseline (GEF SB) for the country’s electricity system along with the data and processes used to generate the output.
The objective of the webinar was to enhance the participation of public, private and civil society players in the overall development of all requisite documentation. The desired outcome is the approval of the GEF SB by the UNFCCC executive board for use by project developers in Kenya. Carbon Africa is pleased to play its part in moving this process forwards via online means.
