Bianca Gichangi is a climate change mitigation, climate finance and carbon markets expert. She has vast experience in monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) including on the UN’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). She implemented carbon-monitoring plans for various CDM projects in geothermal, hydro and wind energy at the Kenya Electricity Generating Company. This led to successful issuance and sale of certified emission reductions. As an associate manager at EED Advisory Limited, she managed projects on greenhouse gas accounting and setting of science-based targets. She also contributed to the Kenya Electricity Sector Investment Prospectus 2018 - 2022. Bianca has a deep interest in climate finance and Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, having provided training on the Green Climate Fund and is part of the Kenyan delegation negotiating the Paris rulebook. She holds a Masters in Climate Change and Policy (University of Sussex), a BEng Environmental Engineering (University of New South Wales) and a Certificate in Climate and Renewable Energy Finance (Frankfurt School-UNEP Centre).
