Carbon Africa, in partnership with Economic Consulting Associates and the Kenya Association of Manufacturers, is implementing a project funded by the EU Energy Initiative Partnership Dialogue Facility (EUEI-PDF) to provide renewable energy regulatory development support to the Ministry of Energy & Petroleum, the Energy Regulatory Commission, Kenya Power and other stakeholders in Kenya. A major focus is on net metering, where an assessment report has been prepared and regulations and standards are being drafted. Other tasks include support for the grid connection process and feasibility study templates for Feed-in Tariff (FIT) projects. Officials from key energy sector organizations are also receiving training on financial modelling.

A public consultation forum on the project outputs is planned for early 2014. Inputs from all stakeholders are welcome.
